Wow, a modern glass table with no visible legs, supported only by a fabric? As it appears … Here’s from its creators, an Italian company Horm: “The force of gravity is a perception: the innovative material created by pairing wooden tiles cut by laser with felt creates the illusion of a drape supporting the table surface in tempered glass. The table top seems to float above the fabric and gravity seems to disappear for a moment.” A painted steel frame is hidden underneath the fabric. We can guess that by attaching wood tiles to a felt material, they achieved the effect: tiles give an appearance of the lightweight fabric while felt helps to keep the shape. Designed by Diego Vencato, the illusive Lieve table is available in ash, walnut, maple and rosewood Santos finishes, from Horm.
