This Pentagonal shaped furniture by Claesson Koivisto Rune was designed for Japanese brand Matsuso T, and is called Five. This solid wood furniture series references Japanese and Eastern philosophies around the number “5”. Said studio co-founder, Mårten Claesson: “We live in a world of five elements that we experience through our five senses. Five is gently odd. Five is not too many.Five is beautiful.” A stool, dining and coffee table, coat stand, armchair/chair, clothing rail and bench all revolve around the theme of five. The chair is available in fire engine red, or with red accents, depending on how bold you are. The coat stand is unusual, a combination of stool and coat rack. And the clothing rail is just elegant – with its red cords. The entire line has a hint of red (or full lacquer red in the case of the solid chair and table). Interwoven with the red element and the element of five – this collection is smooth and organic with just a hint of Japanese design. These pieces would look fantastic just about anywhere you put them!
Hints of red carry through the design.
You can mix and match all the pieces in Five.
The clothing rail is elegant with its red cords.
The coat stool (far right) is an unusual hybrid!
