Axor Urquiola Bathroom Fixtures in Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona

Designer Patricia Urquiola makes another mark in her native Spain, in Barcelona.

Her latest spectacular project, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona – where she was responsible for the interior design – was named the best hotel project of 2010 by Interior Design Magazine.

The hotel immediately fits into Barcelona’s rich architectural landscape that tends to be avant-garde.

Urquiola’s many famous creations are included in the hotel’s overall design, with her own series of bathroom fixtures, Axor Urquiola, being one of them. The Axor Urquiola collection itself is an Interior Design Best of Year honoree.

Check out the images to see how these bold, asymmetrical forms were implemented to combine classical charm and daring modernism, and get inspired with designs ideas for your own modern home.
