Wood Table in Weathered Colors: Funky DIY Idea

What a great DIY project: this table screams Summer!

And it should be pretty easy to wrap up in a weekend as it’s a basic picnic table style with two benches. The fun part will be the staining!

We found it in the house of Chile’s Juan Pablo Merino – but you can do this easily at home with a little patience and a few screws. Plus some wood and stain, of course. The table – and benches for that matter – are simple square ends, with a top and a brace along the bottom.

They’re done white in this example but the base color is totally up to you. We love the way the wood grain shows through the stains. And there are so many awesome stain colors today. You don’t have to follow this palette if you want to build the table for a specific room or specific look. It would look marvelous in varying shades of one color – blues for example, all the way from robin’s egg to navy.

What are you waiting for? Your weathered beach house table awaits!
