Under Table by Goncalo Campos

Goncalo Campos has filled in the blanks in Emaf Progetti’s straight-forward Beider Table. The result of his customization is the transformed Under Table.

This piece expresses “what can happen under a table”, bringing to life various scenarios in cut-out form.

Maintaining the color and concept of the original Beider Table, Under Table has added silhouettes of objects, animals, and people in poses very much like the blissful happenings that occur under the table of a home and/or office.

In addition to the visual component, these objects also make for added reinforcement to the table.

There is a certain chaos about the design, but it is a type familiar to many. As life imitates art, and art imitates life, a look at one or a combination of the added elements, and one can feel a personal resonance to the “Under Tables” in one’s own life.

Information and more works from this Portuguese product designer can be found on his website, Goncalo Campos.
